Lyft Q2 2026: Revenue +16% YoY to $1.84B as International Expansion and Marketplace Health Drive Active Rider Growth of 17%
Lyft's Q2 2026 results demonstrate that its international expansion strategy — anchored by the Freenow acquisition in July 2025 and TBR in October 2025 — is driving measurable volume growth, with Active Riders up 17% and Gross Bookings up 23% YoY to $5.5 billion. Adjusted EBITDA margin expanded 30 basis points to 3.2% of Gross Bookings as insurance cost relief from California's SB 371 offset a 68% surge in sales and marketing spend, which now represents 17.4% of revenue versus 12.0% in the prior year. The most material structural tension in the filing is that rider engagement investment is accelerating faster than top-line revenue, creating a margin overhang that management has not quantified as a temporary versus permanent cost reset.

Lyft, Inc. operates as a global mobility platform offering a mix of rideshare, taxis, private hire vehicles, executive chauffeur services, car sharing, bikes and scooters. Our established, scaled network of users is brought together by our robust technology platform (the 'Lyft Platform') that powers rides and connections every day. Our Lyft mobile application ('Lyft App') connect riders with drivers for on-demand ride services and supports a variety of other multimodal solutions. Substantially all of our revenue is generated from our ridesharing marketplace that connects drivers and riders. We collect service fees and commissions from drivers for their use of our ridesharing marketplace. We also generate revenue from licensing and data access agreements, the sale of bikes and bike station software and hardware, advertising services, riders renting through our network of shared bikes and scooters, drivers renting vehicles through Express Drive and by making our ridesharing marketplace available to organizations through our Lyft Business offerings. In 2025, we expanded our operations beyond North America and strengthened our global footprint. We entered nine new countries and more than 180 cities through our acquisition of Intelligent Apps GmbH (d/b/a Freenow) in July 2025, a leading European multimodal app with taxi offering at its core. In October 2025, we acquired TheBookingRoomGroup Limited (d/b/a TBR Global Chauffeuring, or 'TBR'), a global luxury chauffeuring company that operates in thousands of cities worldwide. As a result of these acquisitions, as well as additional expansion of our business, we now operate in thousands of cities across six continents.
